| A recent publicity package from Concord Records announced the formation of the Concord Vista label. Says the flyer, "Embracing Urban Contemporary, AC, AAA, NAC and other genres that reflect the label's panoramic musical point of view, Concord Vista is the place to find the best in jazz-influenced contemporary music." An announcement of the label's first release, Get Here, by vocallist Dennis Towland, shows "Key Sales Features," "Key Markets," a "Key Category," and "key tracks for urban contemporary, AC, and 'Quiet Storm' radio formats." I don't even know what half those acronyms mean, but Concord seems to be getting away from its late founder Carl Jefferson's vision. Do you really need all those keys to sell records? |
